Medical safety > Blood Exposure Accidents, who are concerned?

Blood Exposure Accidents potentially concern anyone likely to enter into contact at some point with blood or biological fluids, i.e. all medical staff including , operating theater staff (surgeons, suture nurses and instrument nurses), personal care nurses, emergency room personnel and intensive care staff are particularly exposed .

Studies have shown that surgeons are most exposed in terms of frequency, with about 6 to 13 PIs per surgeon per year , and many MMSEs . However, these incidents are above all accounted for by certain procedures known to be risky and which are found to be common denominators in a high number of BEAs.
